Good-Girl Bad-Boy [Part ||]
"He said what?!" Mandy exclaimed incredulously.
"H-He said he liked me?" Grace repeated herself.
"You cant date him" Mandy said out of the blue with strict voice.
Grace looked up in shock of what the best friend said. Her eyes met Mandy's furious ones and they immediately flew to her lap. She have seen Mandy getting mad, but never this furious.
"Wh-Why not?"
"Because I said so"
Grace bit her bottom lips, the angry Mandy always manage to scare her. Mandy was never the one to get mad easily, well, it was a few years ago, before she became famous among the high schoolers. Now all she does was yelling and telling Grace what do to. It's almost as if Grace was her own personal slave. She didnt like the new Mandy, and to be frank she was happy that Carter liked her. But she decided he wasnt worth losing a friend for.
Carter walked through the corridor with a huge smirk on his face. Hand shaking some of his friends along the way to Grace's locker. His heart skipped a beat seeing the brunette changing her books. He came up to her casually and leaned his shoulder against the locker next to hers.
"Hey"
"I-I dont think we should be talking to each other" Grace stammered and pushed her nerdy glasses to her nose.
Carter was puzzled at first, then he realized Grace was stealing glances at a glaring Mandy in her slutty cheerleader uniform. He knew damn well Grace's relationship with Mandy, and he didnt like it. How could a girl as sweet as Grace be friends with a slut like Mandy?
"I dont accept that"
Grace looked up dumbfounded by his words. His heart yet again skipped a beat as his eyes met her chocolate ones. The bell rang and Carter took Grace's hand in his, they walked to Grace's class hand in hand. Of course there were glares shot mostly at Grace but when she's with Carter, she could care less what people thought. Carter kissed her cheek as a goodbye kiss once they were in front of Grace's class. Seeing the flushing Grace was enough for Carter, knowing she's a good girl, she probably havent had a first kiss, and he doesnt intend to steal it from her. If he's going to kiss her, he's going to do it properly, surely it wasnt his usual bad ass style but when he thought of Grace, he felt the need to be a good guy.
Day by day passed, Carter was the sweetest guy that had treated Grace right. Though she tried to distant herself from him, he always ends up doing something amazing and draw her to him. Everyone could see their intimacy, and not everyone liked it. Mandy had been giving Grace the cold shoulder for not listening to what she order; to not date Carter.
"Arent you just a sweet little bitch?" Mandy hissed in annoyance, glaring at her ex friend.
"P-Please dont do this Amanda" Grace whimpered at the pain of having her shoulder slammed agaisnt the locker in the changing room by Mandy.
"You still have the nerve to call me Amanda?"
Just before Mandy's hand touch a single hair of Grace's, Carter's roar froze her.
"Just what the hell do you think you're doing?!"
Mandy instantly brought her hand to her side, her forehead creased. Carter made her way into the girl's changing room and gently pulled Grace to her feet.
"What does she have that I dont?!" Mandy called as Carter and Grace were about to leave the room.
"She's sweet and innocent. You? You're a slut." Carter replied coldly.
"C-Carter, t-thank-" before she could finish her words, Carter slammed his fist against the locker in the corridor.
"She could've hurt you!" he yelled to himself mostly, Grace flinched at his sudden out burst.
"But she didnt. You came for me" Grace said soothingly, using her slender fingers to bring his face to look at her.
"Yeah, but no matter what I do, I cant have you"
"So ask me"
"Ask you what?"
"Ask me to be your girlfriend and get down on your knees"
"Do I have to?" Carter whined, if he really have to then it's his first time getting on his knees just for a girl.
She nodded vigorously. It was his first time seeing the confident Grace, then he made up his mind. In order to see this side of Grace, he would do anything, even if it means getting down on his knees.
"Grace Dallas, would you do the honor to be my girlfriend?"
"Let me think" Grace teased.
"Please?"
"I dont see why not"
He rose and wrapped his arms around her waist, lifting her off her feet and smiled genuinely.Good Girl-Bad Boy [Part |]
Grace, the nerd, the loner, the boyfriendless girl of the school. Mandy, the popular, the cheerleader, the boy crazy of the school. What these girls have in common? They're friends, best friends. Grace and Mandy were friends since kindergarten, they knew everything about each other, but things change when they entered high school. Mandy, the friend who had better taste of fashion was accepted in the popular group. Grace? She doesnt care about what people thinks, she wears what she wants and she does what she desires. That was how she was labeled as the boyfriendless girl. No boy would want some girl without some fashion sense. Wrong.
Meet Carter, the school's bad ass and football captain. What people dont know was, he disgusts girls that exposed too much of their skin and paint their faces like clowns. He prefers someone more like Grace, her always wearing jeans and just plaid t-shirt intrigues him in every way.
"Oh Carter" Mandy called in a sing-song voice which to Carter sounded like a cat screeching.
"Hey Mands" he replied, calling her by her nickname the football teams gave her.
"So, what'cha doin'?" she said in the same annoying tone, Carter rolled his eyes, cant she get any stupider?
"Uh, we're in the field and I'm wearing my jersey. I've got football practice" said he.
"I've got cheer practice" she said in a bored tone and faked a yawn whilst covering her open mouth with the back of her hand.
"We could always ditch and have some fun" she mutters, grinning and licking her upper lips.
"Carter!" the coach's voice boomed from across the field, Carter let out a sigh of relief internally.
"I gotta go"
He jogs off gladly, a thankful smile plastered on his pink plum lips. His eyes landed on a brunette haired with over-sized glasses standing beside the coach, a book in her hand. Her beautiful chocolate eyes staring at her converse and her black t-shirt wrapped-not to the extent that effects her breathing process- around her body, showing off her curves. Though as perverted as that may sound, Carter cant help the fact that he was the school's bad boy.
"Hi" he mumbled as he purposefully stopped beside her, ignoring the coach's glare towards him.
Everyone knows Grace was the coach's niece which meant she was completely off limits and being the coach's niece was the only ticket for her not to get bullied.
"H-Hey" she stuttered.
Carter's smile faded seeing that his dream girl didn't even bothered to look up at him let alone be interested to converse with him. But what kind of guy would he be if he gave up easily.
"Carter! Get in position!" The coach roared, Carter rolled his eyes and got in position the coach blowed the whistle and the practice began.
"Hey, Grace. Wait up." Carter whispered-shouted so the others wouldn't hear him.
"Yes?" she paused from walking any further and turn to him.
He looked at her in bewilderment, her beautiful chocolate eyes met his piercing blue ones, this kind of occasions just happen every once in a blue moon for Carter. The occasion the Grace would look at him straight in the eye.
"Carter! Bath. Now!"
For the third time of the day, the coach interrupted his attempt to speak to a girl.
"Be right there coach!" he yelled back, the coach gave him a weird look the kind of look dont-do-anything-that'll-make-her-cry-or-you'll-answer-to-me look and left to the changing room.
He could see Grace was a little bit uncomfortable with him, and she was pretty much ready to dash for it when he wasnt looking. He had to do something, to catch her interest.
"Listen, I dont know if you're just playing dumb or you really can't see it. I've been trying to make a conversation with you every time I had the chance, but you just make it impossible. And every time I'm around you, you look like you couldnt stand my presence for even another second. I like you, and I want to get to know you"
He surprised himself by the words he blurted out, and how he even managed to give such a speech since he wasnt the best poet or romantic of the school. Grace stared at him in pure shock, like she didnt expect this at all, of course, she's the innocent girl that would daydream about getting a confession at the rooftop and the presence of the full moon shining above them and by a gentlemen, surely Grace was the type that would go for gentlemen. Oh how stupid Carter was, there and then, he knew Grace was never going to speak to him again.A Not-So-Sweet Dream
It was dark, yet the moonlight that shone through the window was enough to clarify where I was. Considering that it was this, dark, I'd say it was about 4 in the morning. I didn't know how I got here the first place nonetheless at this kind of hour. It was my grandmother's house, in the living room. Then all of a sudden, the door busted open, and my uncle and his family sprang into the room. My foot froze, the back ground revealing nothing but lighting and the blood-curdling sound of thunder at rage. I didn't even realize there was a storm until now. I took in a deep breath, gaining my strength to turn around to see what my uncle and his family were doing. Just by the replay of them barging into the room at late this hour made the hair of the back of my neck stand. My aunt, had her one year old child in her arm, rocking the baby back and forth whilst being seated on the couch. My uncle, had his legs crossed and a news paper held before his face. And his four child of different ages playing with their toys which is a mystery where they got it. I stood dumbfounded, what they were doing now was what they were always doing every time they'd stay over at grandmother's house, considering that their house was far- and no, it's not the far, far away kingdom- just, far from here. It'll take hours to drive back, so every time they came, they'd always stay over. But what in heaven's name were they doing in the middle of the morning? And with only the moonlight shone, how could uncle have read whatever he was reading?
Everyone was acting so-forever normal, that I thought, maybe I was missing something? Maybe there's a bit in my memory that I couldnt recall about people coming over to someone's house as early as four? Or maybe people being wide awake to do the things that you do in daylight? Shouldn't we be sleeping? And as if on cue, they stood up and went to their bedroom, the room they always use when they sleep over. And where was grandma anyway? It's her house after all. I shrug and my eyes landed on a radio, resting beside the TV. Eh, why not? I place the radio on the coffee table whilst I rest my bum on the couch before it. I didn't know why, but I turn it on and started playing in really loud. Ironically, no one bothered to wake up and yelled at me to turn the horrid thing down, so I figured it was alright.
Minutes later, my 7-years-old cousin waltz out of the room and sat next to me, with a grin on his face. Soon, the eldest of his family who was 11-years-old came and sat next to him, on the couch. It didnt bother me really, I just hummed softly to the melody, all the weird things happening, all of the thoughts, it all went down the drain as I was carried away by the music. I wont lie, I love music, mainly because it could make me forget my worries and it would chase away the anger I had in me. Since I am a hot headed.
Then a brief flashing image of my ear phone popped in my mind whilst my eyes was closed, something I tend to do when I listen to music. My eyes instantly snapped open and as I knew it, my body was making my way downstairs, where the- well, kitchen was. I didnt know why, but I always place my earphone at the counter- perhaps that's why my body was walking unconsciously? I realize my two cousins was walking along side me. My eyes were fixed on the darkness of the kitchen, it was pitched black and it manage to make the hairs on my skin stand.
When we reached the bottom, I notice his sister weren't with us, but I shrugged it off. What the kid does was none of my concern. My eyes could adjust to the darkness, and I could see, but not as clearly without the lights on. The little 7-years-old and I made our way to the counter and there it was, my earphone, lying there. It all happened in a blink of an eye- a scream- a child's scream erupts in my ear, I turned around to see the little boy looking at something, but it was too dark for me to classify what it was. And out of the blue, his whole family was boxing him, throwing questions after questions.
Out of nowhere, the eldest of the family spoke.
"I didn't follow you guys, because I saw her..." she stated, her voice shaking at the last part.
I didn't know who she was, but thinking about it gave me goosebumps. And who says ghosts don't exist?
"Honey, wake up." my mum's voice rang in my ear and the light hurt my eyes as I open them. In the end, it was all just a dream.
